ABSTRACT:

There has been tremendous dialogue over man - nature conflict. Development has always been the main agenda, where slowly but steadily sustainability has crept in. This paper analyses the effects of mining operations on flora and fauna and forests. The paper discusses the mechanisms under the environmental legislations in India along with an excerpt from the recommendations of the Forest Advisory Committee of Saranda Forest in Jharkhand
