ABSTRACT:

Jharkhand is well known for its lac cultivation and is the leading producer of lac. Forests of Jharkhand have plenty of lac host plants, and are the source of sustenance of tribes residing in the state. Tribes of Jharkhand cultivated lac since long to support their livelihood.
